Puerto Princesa Part One

Puerto Princesa -- The City of the Living God

27-29 April 2014

This family trip was just a spur of the moment thing. My husband had sort of 3 days off. So we grabbed that opportunity to bond and enjoy the summer sun. As part of an airline here in the Philippines, I have free of charge tickets for me and my family BUT only for seat availability. So last 27 April, we tried to catch the flight departing at 8am. But the flight was full. Another one is at 1005am. And full again. Our last chance was on the 0340pm flight. And thank God for our check-in counter friends, we made it on that flight but the flight was delayed. It departed past 6pm already. Still, we're glad we're in it and all our day's efforts weren't wasted.

Wow. Sunrise to Sunset!
Buckle up Erinn. We are about to take-off! Yipeee!

After arriving at PPS Airport around 8pm, we decided to do our to-buy list first. We needed milk, water, and diaper for our baby girl. We thought of going to Robinsons Mall, but the tricycle driver that we hired brought us to Mercury Drugstore which is way way nearer than Robinsons. But the milk wasn't available, so Kuya tricycle driver (sorry I'm bad with names) brought us to this grocery/drugstore which I forgot the name also. Well, thank you Kuya for bringing us there. To-buy list -- Check! Our tummies were rumbling already. I thought of eating Chicken Inato -- The PPS version of Chicken Inasal. I used to order that when I have a flight in Puerto Princesa. It's like chicken inasal but with a different flavor. It also has this patis (fish sauce) mixed with something and atchara for its condiments. Ha ha. So, Kuya driver brought us to Haim Chicken Inato.

It was past 9pm when we arrived in Haim Chicken Inato Resto, so we decided to just buy the food here and eat at the hotel. And also, we were already beat! By the way, we forgot to take a picture of the chicken inato because we were starving like bears. Ho Ho.

We stayed at Casa Mila Inn. We booked this hotel in Agoda.com. The place was really nice and cozy. It has I think around 20 rooms only, so it's really an inn. Casa Mila is not located along the national road where all the hustle and bustle is at. As Kuya tricycle driver said "nasa gubat sya" (it's in the forest). But its like 5 minutes away from the airport and the "city" hence, still a great location. The inn has this small pool. The deepest part goes 5 feet and they also have billiard table and bar upstairs. Cool right? :p

You can eat your meal here or in the table just outside your room. Uber coziness alright!

Hi Erinn! And that's me opening the door. :)
No time to go swimming here. :)
This was taken during our last day in PPS.

Dada's selfie.

Our room was big and clean. I think 5-6 people will fit comfortably here. It has a bed for 2, aircon, ceiling fan, TV, mini bar, fridge, and hot and cold shower. A big OKAY for the accommodation! We slept good that night and woke up early for our Honda bay tour. The promo in Agoda in this hotel doesn't include breakfast. But it's still okay. We ordered one American breakfast and 2 cups of rice for the me and Dada. We're budgeting! Ha ha. The serving was big. There's ham, bacon, toast with butter and strawberry jam, 2 eggs, and coffee. Food was great! We were stuffed. Happy tummy indeed! The staff were all smiling and accommodating. They were all very friendly and all were willing to help. They even entertained Erinn's kakulitan and her running around the hotel. Will certainly book here again if we ever go back to Puerto Princesa. I think we got a bargain here. So comfy and so SULIT!

Little girl is tired!

“Halooo.”

Our yummy American breakfast. Let's eat!
Eat up, honey! :)

 Yay food!!!

Get ready for our Part Two adventure -- Honda Bay!
